1. Mileage over power:-
When it comes to buying a car in India, most people will ask, "Kitna deti hai?". According to a recent survey, 6 out of 10 Indians are worried about the increasing fuel prices and that can be one of the reasons for them to choose mileage over power.
All 4 of the above cars, are very high on mileage, but not quite strong when it comes to performance. Excluding the Tiago, other 3 cars neither have build quality, nor are stable when it comes to driving dynamics. And still we Indians choose to buy those "Tin cans" just because they are cheaper and offer better fuel efficiency.
2. Catchy Features:-
This is a practical parameter to look for before buying a car. For example in 2021, everyone would expect her/his car to offer a good quality infotainment system, MID, steering mounted audio controls, automatic wipers, and the list is endless.
But to put all of this in car of and affordable price, car companies need to cut costs at many places, for example, the spare wheels are of smaller size, and most are not even alloys, car makers compromise with the quality of material used in the interior.
For example, Kia Seltos, Creta and i20 are great cars, but the build quality of these cars is just about average, the dashboard is full of hard plastics, the spare wheel isn't an alloy, it's even of a smaller size, just to save space.
3. Exterior And Design:-
This is another factor which matters when we buy a new car, but most Indians don't pay much attention to it, they just want good mileage and cheap price, the European brands like Volkswagen and Škoda are best when it comes to timeless designs and raw engine feel.
But we Indians are just following the stereotype and we are just running to buy the most unsafe of the cars. I, being a car enthusiast, feel really bad when we Indians don't even considering buying cars like EcoSport, Polo, Vento, Figo and blindly run to buy the most unsafe cars like Swift, Verna, Kwid etc.
