Boat rockerz 400 review Bluetooth headphones

The boat maker has been introducing affordable smartphone accessories to the market for some time now.

Some of its products have the Amazon Choice tag and have been able to receive numerous reviews and customer ratings.

I have the Boat Rockerz 400, a Bluetooth headphone priced at Rs. 1,299. Is it good money or has the company made too many compromises to get that aggressive price point? Let's find out.

Performance and battery life

Power on the Boat Rockerz 400 and hear the saying "Powering on, you're connected to nirvana".

When you pair a device with headphones, you will hear "Now you are connected to the Boat Rockerz 400". Long press the power button and the device has another quip, "Adios amigo, turns off".

This is very annoying and there is no way to disable it. A simple beeps system to inform users about the status of these headphones would be much better.

We've used these headphones with Google Pixel 3 and Macbook Air for updates. The Boat Rockerz 400 was comfortable and a headband connection was helpful.

The slide bar has no cones so it is not easy to adjust both sides to the same level. Thankfully, the earcups are flexible and we can easily correct them.

The buttons used by the boat in these headphones are slightly protruding from the right earcup, making them easy to find and easy to use while wearing headphones.

The Boat Rockerz 400 delivers excellent sound quality but shines brightly at higher prices. As expected, the Rockerz 400 does not have a very good metal detector and the space noise is also minimal.

But this is acceptable for its Rs. Price 1,499. These headphones emit a lot of sound and anyone sitting next to you will be able to hear even the lyrics of the songs you are listening to.

We also found that the volume is not compatible with the phone and you have independent volume control over the headphones. Long pressing a skipping / repeating track changes the volume on the headset while a short press changes the track.

Ideally, this should have been the other way around. As this control is modified, it is very difficult to properly adjust the volume.

When I listened to Linkin Park's Somewhere I Belong, the Rockerz 400 failed to manage the good separation between the electric guitar and the drum set.

These headphones have the right amount of bass and mids but the highs make the sound louder. We used mostly headphones with 80% volume because the height could not be controlled until now.

Design and features of Boat Rockerz 400

The Boat Rockerz 400 is available with four color options; Carbon Black, Black / Red, Black / Blue, and Gray / Green With the exception of Carbon Black, all other options have only two tones. We have a Gray / green unit in this review.

The green neon finish on the ear cups and headband pillow (a nice addition to this price) may seem appealing to some.

The boat has finished off the headband and ears with gray plastic, while the slide line of the headband is made of steel.
