The biggest fear any blogger has is what if they don't get enough traffic to sustain their blogs. Well, the fear is quite obvious and you know why that happens?

Because we lack the knowledge of attracting audience. Of course that doesn't mean you need to be a professional marketer to attract your audience.

Presenting your content with the right tool usage around you is quite enough. But, sadly we ignore that.

Worry not! I won't be mentioning anything here that's going to cost you something to get traffic. I bet, you would get it for free after reading this.

So, get ready to know about a tool that's already around you to get the traffic you've been craving for. Yes, it's none other but Google Search Console.

What is Google Search Console?

Earlier popular by the name Google Webmaster Tool, Google Search Console is a tool that gives all the idea about your site. Be it the performance of your site, or indexing your site, any error detection or other issues troubling your site, Google Search Console has it all.

All these features of Google Search Console makes it a complete package of essentials a site needs. Basically Google Search Console is a doctor of any site. Let me explain you how it works and how it can be helpful in getting you traffic.

Search Analytics

Search Analytics is a section of Google Search Console that shows Clicks, Impressions, CTR and Position of a site

Clicks depicts the number of clicks you get from search engine pages on your posts.

Impressions show the number of audience that has seen your post on search engine pages.

CTR (Click Through Rate) shows clicks divded by impressions a site gets.

Position shows the average position of your best posts on search engine.

Basically you get lots of other options under Search Analytics like queries, page, country, device, etc.

How these metrics of Search Analytics can get you more traffic?

Below the Search Analytics metrics that shows clicks, impressions, CTR and position, you can see the queries that have been more searched about which are basically the keywords in another sense.

Just have a close look at them and see which queries or keywords had more impressions but low click and CTR.

What does keywords with more impressions and low click and CTR indicates?

Well, low click and CTR indicates that your post has not been given prority by the readers even though the impressions were more.

Readers did see your post on certain queries and that's why you could see more impressions. But your post failed to attract more readers to come on to your post page and hence you got low clicks and low CTR.

How can that metric help in growing traffic?

All you need to check is what could be the possible reasons why readers didn't end up on your page.

The possible reasons could be

1. Poor Title

A poor or bad title drives away a reader and hence you can keep a check on that. See if your title lacked proper keyword or it lacked appealing.

2. Poor Meta Description

As I mentioned in my previous posts your meta description plays a vital role in attracting audience. Just make sure you have a catchy and short (150-160 words) meta description with keyword in it.

3. Poor keywords

It may happen that the keyword you used is not worthy enough to get clicks you wanted. Hence check if you have right keyword included in your post or not.

Conclusion

It's definitely not a straightway getting traffic approach but yes Google Search Console indicates a lot about the things you have been doing right and things you've been doing wrong on your site. Make an efficient use of the metrics on Google Search Console and correct them all. I'm sure after doing that you'll see a drastic change in your traffic. And yes you won't be spending anything for getting traffic that way, so why not give it a try right away.
