Dell XPS 13 9310 review in 2021
The Dell XPS13 (9310) is one of Dell's premium laptop offers that helped make HP the best PC company in Q4 2020. ITC data shows that Dell was at the forefront of its game in the fourth quarter and recorded growth in both business and consumer segments. However, now that new IDC data this month shows crawling to the top of the HP list, things have changed and Dell has moved to second place.
The return of the Dell XPS 13 is no different from other XPS range laptops introduced by Dell. By the end of 2020, the company had a startup. Dell has built one of the best Intel chipsets for the XPS 13, which comes with Evo operating system certification, but for laptop search users, I think it's the best combination of the two worlds. Used for work and sports. Dell XPS 13 comes with the new 11th General Intel Core processor, priced from Rs 149,990 to Rs 2,09,990, which is definitely not set for the general public. I spent enough time with the laptop to let you know if the premium is worth it.
Dell XPS13 Review: Stunning look and lightweight
If the XPS 13 has a port that can outperform a laptop for its price, it must be designed. In my opinion, this is better than the MacBook range and any other premium Ultrabook currently available on the market. The aluminum chassis gives you the stability you'd expect from a laptop with a magnesium or plastic body. The solid structure gives you confidence when used day and night. However, I have noticed that Dell has provided more design updates to make the new XPS13 look a little different from its predecessors.
For those of you who are still following the XPS Travel range, there is not much to talk about in the new XPS 139310, as it retains many of the design features I saw on the last generation laptop.
But those who want to buy it should know that the design of the Dell XPS13 is about aesthetics, usability in mind and that it looks clean. The Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on the touchscreen helps to avoid accidental scratches on the Dell logo on the right lid, which is laser cut from a sheet. The thin bezels around the display give a clear indication that it is a premium laptop and enhance the look of the laptop.
Then, the XPS 13 has a keyboard that is easy to use and easy to open and close with one hand during everyday use. Dell used a consistent dual-scroll pressure matching key even when using a touch screen.
The XPS 13's palm has a carbon fiber-inspired shape, which is great for the long haul. The keys and touchpad are large in size and the focus on details are amazing, which helps to improve the overall user experience. The touching experience of the keyboard is one of the best I've seen on laptops in this price range. The backlink keyboard is a nice touch. Dell claims to have added an ultraviolet and anti-stain coating to the palm rest to prevent discoloration, which is a well-thought-out addition.
The power key shape of the keyboard in the top right corner seems to be the best place in terms of factor and aesthetics. However, I thought Dell might have given it a slightly different color accent to set it apart from the other keys on the laptop. The good thing is that the power button integrates into the fingerprint scanner, which burns faster.
At 1.27kg, the Dell XPS13 is one of the lightest premium ultrabooks you can find on the market right now. The 14.8mm thin side profile makes it look slim and adds a premium appeal to the device. The top-of-the-line spec model comes in a single Frost exterior and Arctic white interior, which is stunning. However, for the Core i7, 1TB storage, and 16GB RAM model, the company has to provide the platinum silver exterior and Black interior. At the moment, there is only one color model for the most premium price.
Dell XPS 13 ships have a limited number of ports, which means you can't do more at once. It has 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports on each side (left and right panel), a 3.5mm audio jack, and a microSD card slot. One of the two Thunderbolts is used for charging and can be used to connect a Bluetooth mouse connector or another external display. Laptop ships with Type-C to Type-A connectors can be useful, but during the review, I thought Dell might have attached another Thunderbolt port, which might fix things a bit. Additionally, the laptop supports WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1.
Dell XPS 13 with a 13.4-inch Ultra HD + Infinity Edge display with a resolution of 3840x2400 pixels. This panel can provide the best brightness of 500-nights, and the screen-to-body ratio of 91.5 percent gives an amazing experience. The 4K panel offers 90% DCI B3 color range and clean reflective anti-glare from the screen.
Around this price point, the XPS 13 has excellent panel brightness, color accuracy, and is perfect for all needs - whether it's for your important office presentation or watching movies. The Ultrabook is one of the best screens in Delhi.
Overall, the Dell XPS13 scores are relatively high in the design and display fields and, as I already said, should appeal to younger users.
Dell XPS13 Review: Best Performance
The Dell XPS 13 11th General "Tiger Lake" packs an Intel Core i7 1185 G7 processor (up to 4.8 GHz) and 16GB of LPDTR4 memory. The XPS 13 comes in two storage versions - 512GB SST and 1TB SST, which I received for review. The internal board also has an Intel Iris X graphics card for handling graphics.
The laptop runs on Windows 10 Home. It comes with a default Microsoft Office 30-day trial offer and a 12-month McAfee LiveSafe security software subscription that users can do while setting up the machine. The laptop packs stereo speakers with 4W peak sound, which is integrated with the Dove Claims Waves Max Audio Pro.
In everyday use, the Dell XPS 13 is a powerhouse and handles multitasking easily. The laptop also handles resource-intensive applications such as Photoshop, video editing tools, and some light gaming titles. At 13.4-inches, the Dell XPS looks like a great working machine that doesn't feel light, big, or slim.
However, during the review, I realized that the XPS 13 is a more compatible working laptop than any other AAA header. I'm a bit of a problem with the laptop when editing videos. The Dell XPS13 is without a doubt one of the best thermal designs I have ever had the opportunity to hear from fans during the entire period of the review. Dell also uses a heat pipe designed with a wide area inside the panel for single fans and a single evaporator and double condenser. This system covers the discharge through the hinge area and makes it a completely quiet operator.
Dell XPS13 Intel Ltd's new laptop comes with the standard Intel Evo certification. It can be considered as the latest brand of high-performance laptops and the manufacturers have to meet the minimum requirements. Some requirements include an incredibly fast boot speed and can provide 4 hours or more of battery life on a 30-minute charge.
The laptop is one of the best screens, making multimedia consumption a treat, and providing enough speakers for single-person use. However, I felt that the stereo speakers in Delhi were not very loud, and sometimes I could not hear them playing in a quiet atmosphere.
XPS 13 ships with a 720p HD webcam, the unit I received had some driver issues but did not turn off. I tried to download some webcam drivers, but nothing works. Unfortunately, I was not able to check the clarity of the webcam due to a problem with our unit. The expected laptop from a powerful laptop can easily connect to WiFi signals remotely.
In our opinion, the Dell XPS13 maybe your best companion and the most attentive.
Dell XPS13 Review: Battery is not its greatest strength
The Dell XPS 13 has a 4-cell 52Whr integrated battery, which is the slowest of the whole set. The laptop battery lasted just three hours, 25 percent brightness, which was a big disappointment. While the company claims ownership of the incredible 8 hours of streaming on the laptop, our video loop test results showed that the laptop with the low display settings and headphones plugged in lasted about 4 hours.
It has fast charging support, which means your laptop can be fully charged at 20 to 100 percent per hour, but limited battery strength destroys the laptop's portability level.
Dell XPS13 Review: Verdict
The Dell XPS13 (9310) laptop is a perfect example of what a performance laptop should look like. It offers a stunningly elegant design profile that will be a head-turner for users of all ages. For professionals looking for an uncompromising laptop, Dell XPS 13 picks all the right boxes but makes sure it doubles as your default personalized multimedia tool for weekend movies or shows.
Intel Evo certification guarantees one of the best experiences you can get from the premium range Dell XPS13. Also, another thing that favors a laptop is its wide SKU, which means that if you know what you want from the Core i3 or i7, you can come here.
The shield has fewer jinxes, the battery life would have been better, and the choice of ports would have added more value. The price of the Dell XPS 13 is also high, with other options for similar prices from brands such as Asus, Lenovo, and Apple. But again, this would mean that you have to spend on these processes.
If you are looking for a replacement for the XPS 13, the MacBook Air with the M1 chipset is our best choice, even if it costs you less, but you will not get a touch screen display and some such features. Around this price, users can opt for the 13-inch MacBook Pro with the M1 chip, which offers decent battery life.
