Realme X7 Max 5G review in 2021
Realme is back with another smartphone, not surprisingly, it has 5G. The RealMe X7 Max 5G is the third phone in the X7 lineup after the X7 and X7 Pro, and it brings everything to the table at maximum.
You have the latest MediaTek processor, AMOLED display with 120Hz upgrade rate, and the company's fast-charging magic all available at a starting price of Rs 26,999. Realme ensures top performance here, and this applies to some as well. I picked up the RealMe X7 Max 5G for the spin.
RealMe X7 Max 5G Review: Nice format and nice display
The best thing about the RealMe X7 Max 5G is that despite its price, it does not attempt to be an intermediate phone. The design of this phone is premium, matte finish with glossy strap by the camera module. This design works for most people because it combines a brilliant and loud look. The “Dare to Leap” branding sits in a corner this time around, which is a good thing. Despite the large footprint, the X7 Max 5G is easy to hold, which allows my right foot to easily reach the screen.
I like how the phone is designed, the X7 Max 5G is not significantly different from other real-time phones. Due to the camera module. Rectangular Camera Island is what we saw on recent real-time phones. Realme follows a model in the design of its phones and I think it will never change. The RealMe X7 Max 5G unit I'm reviewing is the asteroid black color variant, and it looks great. You also have the Milky Way and Mercury silver colorways.
The display on the RealMe X7 Max is similar to a company's latest phones. It has a 6.43-inch Full-HD + Super AMOLED display. The 120Hz update rate is the biggest selling point here, which makes scrolling, swiping, and animations much smoother. There is an option to set the update rate to 60Hz or 120Hz, and there is also an option on the phone to determine that. Screen update rates have become a staple, thanks to RealMe.
Performance is, in general, good. It creates amazing colors. The content in the scene is mostly clear. This is because, by default, the display uses the "Clear" setting, but this can be changed to reduce the color saturation by selecting "Sensitive" from the settings. Realm offers a "power saving" mode, and as the name implies it removes all the saturation and display colors of life to save battery on your phone.
In the settings, you have "Bright HDR Video Mode" which brightens the screen when playing HDR videos. It mostly works with YouTube videos where you can play 4K videos with HDR. I do not know when the Netflix show will run on HDR because it is not named. When playing Netflix, titles like Lucifer or The Order do not show the "HDR" option, but you can get the actual HD quality here. The videos look very sharp.
The good things about the show are that you can enjoy gaming on the phone. The biggest advantage here is the 120 Hz upgrade rate that you can enjoy while playing Call of Duty mobile and more. I will talk a little bit about the gaming performance of the phone. I've glad to tell you that the in-display fingerprint sensor works fast and shows cool animations when you do it.
RealMe X7 Max 5G Review: Like Butter
The RealMe X7 Max is powered by a 5G MediaTek Dimension 1200 processor. This is the first time I have used this chip-powered phone and my experience has been great. I feel tired of having all the great apps open at any time in the processor background. I can do many tasks and cheat between apps. When games like Genshine Impact and Call of Duty Mobile are unlocked in the background, the vulnerability in terms of memory management is slightly reduced.
With some complex tasks like unlocking the Google Maps navigation theme or running a video app and split app, the RealMe X7 Max 5G will not fight. Legendary games like Call of Duty, Genshine Impact, and Asphalt 9: Legends are fun to play on the phone at their maximum graphics settings. The phone with extended gaming hours is not tasty and I really like it about this phone. Image processing is also fast on this Smartphone.
You get RealMe UI 2.0 based on Android 11 on the RealMe X7 Max 5G. This is the latest version of Android, which means I will be using some of the latest features on the phone. Realm skin is easy to use and looks fluid, but there is still bloatware to deal with. If you can beat it, there are some awesome features like music sharing and the game place announcement function. Realm has not said anything about when Android 12 will arrive on this phone, but considering it is the renamed GT Neo, it is likely to be released later this year.
I was particularly struck by the speakers on the RealMe X7 Max 5G. There are only a few phones that use stereo speakers, and it comes at a price. RealMe X7 Max 5G offers less money. I really enjoyed watching Lucifer Season 5 Part 2 on the phone without the speaker. Dolby Atmos is there to enhance the audio experience. Similarly, calling on the phone is good, and the person on the other hand can hear me clearly.
RealMe X7 Max 5G Review: A good main camera
The RealMe X7 Max 5G is the side dummy of the GT Neo aimed at India. That’s why the cameras on the phone are at a premium level that speaks realistically to the GT Neo in China. On the back of the phone is a 64-megapixel Sony IMX682 sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. I use the primary sensor a lot, in my opinion, it is a reliable sensor.
The photos clicked using the 64 megapixel Sony camera are awesome. They have an excellent dynamic range and retain natural colors for a long time during the day. I love how these bitter hernias look amazingly green in the photo. I used normal mode to click this photo, but to find things, I switched to 64MP-mode. This method can capture additional details in a 12-megapixel image. Take a look at both photos and see how the 64MP mode version has more details and the bitter frying pan is unclear here.
Realme in the camera app gives you AI mode, which also improves the satisfaction and dynamic range in the photo. Beat it or miss it. Sometimes it improves some photos faster and across borders, otherwise, the image goes the opposite of what I expected. The good thing is that you can turn it off with a single tap on the "AI" icon.
Night mode on the RealMe X7 Max 5G clicks average photos, which are good for your Instagram or other social media feed. Images clicked using an ultra-wide-angle camera will lose some detail, but they can go on your social media profile. This camera also supports night mode, but it is dramatically smaller than the standard 64-megapixel night mode you get. You also have a macro camera, and the photos I took from it did not impress me.
I am delighted with the clickable selfie of the 16-megapixel front camera. You have enabled AI Beauty Mode by default, but you can change it from the small icon in the camera app. Image mode is also available, with the aggressive level bouquet, the photo sometimes looks very superficial. The selfie camera also supports night mode, but the picture I took was pretty good. You can enhance your photos using photo editing software.
Beyond that, the RealMe X7 Max 5G has 4K video recording, but this resolution does not support confirmation. For ultra steady stabilization, the phone cuts down on video quality to maintain a 4: 3 aspect ratio.
RealMe X7 Max 5G Review: Fast Charging Battery
The Realme X7 Max 5G’s 4500mAh battery is enough for you every day. When you normally use the phone. However, running a 120 Hz upgrade rate uses more power compared to a 60 Hz system. During my 45-minute gaming session with the brightness and full sound in the middle of the bar, the battery dropped by 6-7 percent. Using cameras to record 4K videos also uses a lot of battery. The key is that you have to be conservative to keep the phone running for a day. If you can not, there is a 50W fast charging in less than an hour to fully charge the phone.
Realme X7 Max 5G Review: Should You Buy It?
RealMe has provided an amazing phone here. The RealMe X7 Max 5G gets a lot of things right. Better performance with a higher update rate? Cheque. Louder stereo speakers? Cheque. Premium tire performance with 5G? Cheque. The battery lasts for almost a day. Cheque. Of all these checks, there was no complaint about the phone. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack to please you.
But for Knit Picking, I like to take the best night photo of the phone and remove the bloatware to make the UI cleaner. The software does not match what you get on OnePlus or Samsung phone for this price. If that doesn't bother you, the RealMe X7 Max 5G is your buck.
Starting at Rs 26,999, the RealMe X7 Max 5G is one of the best phones you can buy in India right now.
